# Change Row Height and Column Width in Excel:

Row Height and Column Width in Excel: There are several ways to expand the Row Height and Column Width in Excel. By default, the size of a Row Height is 15.00 points whereas the column Width is 8.43 points. However, we can expand the maximum height of a row is 409 Points whereas the maximum width of the column is 255 Points.

## Autofit Contents in a Row Height or Column Width:

1. Enter the content you want to fit in the Row Height or Column Width
2. To Autofit content in a column width or all the columns width in excel, select the column/s or click the Select All Button.
3. Then double-click using the boundary (Any Vertical Gridline of the Column Heading) of any Column Heading as shown in the picture below.

## OR

1. To Autofit content in a row height or all the rows Heights in excel, select the column/s or click the Select All Button.
2. Then double-click using the boundary (Any Vertical Gridline of the Row Heading) of any Row Heading as shown in the picture below.

## Change All the Row Height or Column Width:

1. To change all the Column Width in excel, click the Select All Button as shown in the Picture below
2. And then drag left or right using the boundary (Vertical Gridline of any Column Heading) of any Column Heading as shown in the picture below.

2. And then drag up or down using the boundary (Horizontal Gridline of any Row Heading) of any Row Heading as shown in the picture below.

## Set the Exact Row Height:

1. Make sure the cell or Row/s selection that you want to increase or decrease
2. On the Home tab, in the Cells group, Click on the Format
3. The Select the “Row Height” under the “Cell Size” to get a dialogue box to enter the exact value to increase or decrease the Row Height.
4. Then click Ok.
5. If you want to autofit the Row Height to the default size, click the “Autofit Row Height”.

## Set the Exact Column Width:

1. Make sure the cell/s or Column/s selection that you want to increase or decrease
2. On the Home tab, in the Cells group, Click on the Format
3. The Select the “Column Width” under the “Cell Size” to get a dialogue box to enter the exact value to increase or decrease the Column Width.
4. Then click Ok.
5. If you want to autofit the Column Width to the default size, click the “Autofit Column Width”.

## Set the Default Column Width:

1. Make sure the cell/s or Column/s selection that you want to increase or decrease
2. On the Home tab, in the Cells group, Click on the Format
3. The Select the “Default Width” under the “Cell Size” to get a dialogue box to enter the exact value that you want to set as a default Column Width.
