A Paragraph Formatting Group in MS-Word – 22’s New

A paragraph is a meaning part of a document that describes a specific idea or point. It can be a combination of letters, words, numbers etc.

Giving more or less space between the Lines and Paragraphs is called Line and Paragraph Spacing. By default, the space between the lines in the word is 1.15. Similarly, the space between the Paragraph is 8 points.

Paragraph formatting can be a little combination of different commands, such as an Indention, Numbering, Alignments, Line and Paragraph Spacing.

Steps to Follow in Formatting the Paragraph in MS-Word:

  1. Go to the Home tab
  2. Select the text or Position the cursor wherever you want to format the paragraph.

Adding the Space between the Paragraphs:

  • Go to the Layout tab for paragraph Group.
  • Then select the paragraph/s you want
  • Choose Before or After Spacing Options by clicking the arrows or type an exact numeric value provided in the options to set Before or After Spacing.

Adding the Line and Paragraph Spacing:

  1. Go to the Home tab
  2. Enter and select the text you want
  3. If you want to change the spacing between the lines choose the options accordingly or
  4. If you want to add or remove the spacing between the paragraphs, choose one of the options given under the icon of the “Line and Paragraph spacing”.
