Column Break in MS-Word: Breaks a column from the current left position to the right. To break a column, you should split the text into two, three, left or right column.

Steps to follow in Breaking a Column:

  1. Keep some text you want
  2. Change the text/paragraph into 2 or more columns. 
  3. To change the paragraph into column. Go to the Layout tab, click on the column, then select one of the column option.
  4. Now, position the cursor at the beginning of the line in the left column that you want to break
  5. Then strike (press) the Shift + Ctrl + Enter.
