Paste link is copying the range of a workbook’s sheet (with or without text) and linking it to another worksheet of the same workbook or another workbook’s sheet. Doing so will automatically update the content in the pasted range when you update or enter the content in the copied range.
Link Range of Cells Between Worksheets Using “Paste Link“
- Select any range that is empty or contain text, and then right click on the range and click copy
- Switch to different worksheet in the same or different workbook
- Use the shortcut key (ctrl+alt+v) to open paste special dialogue box or right click and click paste special
- Then click on the “Paste Link” or press “L“. Now a link will be pasted.
- Now switch to the copied worksheet and update or type the text you want
- Now if you notice the area (sheet B) where the link is pasted, the text here will be updated automatically as in the Sheet A.
