How to Add Space Between the Cells of a Table in MS-Word: There is a great way to add the space between the cells of a table by using the table options. The space between the cells gives a clean look and shows you a clear margin area to your content of a table as in the picture below. To do this, follow the steps given below the picture.

  1. On the Insert tab, in the Table group, insert the Table with number of rows and columns you want.
  2. When the table is being inserted, immediately a Design and Layout will open.
  3. On the Layout tab, in the Alignment groups, click on the Margins (immediately a dialogue box will open).
  4. Then check the “Allow spacing between cells”, and then type the measurement number (in inches) provided in the box (the measurement must be between 0” and 2.2”).
