Compress, Change, and Reset a Picture |MS-Word|This article helps you learn compressing a picture, changing the current picture with another and resetting a picture as it was before.

Compressing a Picture:

Compressing a picture means reducing the size of a picture if you wish.

Steps to follow in Compressing a Picture in Word:

  • Go to the Insert tab
  • Click on the Pictures in the Illustrations Group
  • Now choose a picture from your computer
  • To insert an Image, double-click on it or click an image to select, and then click on the Insert.
  • Insert the picture by double-clicking on it, or click to select the picture you want, and then click on the Insert to insert it.

  • Now Automatically Picture Format tab (Picture tools format) appears
  • To Compress the picture, go to the Picture Format tab , and then click the Compress Picture in the Adjust group.
  •  After that choose on of the Resolution options, and then click OK.

Changing a Picture:

Change the current picture with another without degrading the format and size whether searching from your computer file, Bing Image Search or OneDrive.

Steps to follow in Changing a Picture in Word:

  1. Go to the Insert tab
  2. Then click on the Pictures in the Illustrations group
  3. Now choose a picture from your computer
  4. To insert an Image, double-click on it or click an image to select, and then click on the Insert. Now automatically Picture Format tab opens
  5. Then click on the drop-down arrow of the Change Picture in the Adjust
  6. Now a window opens
  7. Under the “Change Picture”, Select one of the options that you want to change from, such as “From a File“, “From Online Sources“, “From Icons“, or “From Clipboard“.
  8. Now choose a picture to insert.

Resetting a Picture :

Resetting a picture means removing all the sizes and formatting changes that was applied by you and keep it as if it was before.

Steps to follow in Resetting a Picture in Word:

  1. Go to the Insert tab
  2. Click on the Pictures in the Illustrations Group
  3. Now choose a picture from your computer
  4. To insert an Image, double-click on it or click an image to select, and then click on the Insert. Now Automatically Picture Format tab appears
  5. Then click on the Reset Picture in the Adjust group
  6. Now your picture was changed as an original as it was before.
