Apply Borders to the Cells in MS-Excel

To apply borders to the cells in Excel, you can select the Line Color or Line Style or Both you want for a different border format, or otherwise, leave it as it is if you wish to apply the default line styles and colors.

  1. On the Home tab, in the Font group, Chick the expand button of the Borders
  2. Under the “Draw Borders”, Select one of the Line Colors, and Line Styles to apply the borders to the cells in Excel.

Bottom Border:

To apply only the Bottom Border to the currently selected cells, select the “Bottom Border”. To do so, follow the steps below.

  1. Select the cell/range of cells you want
  2. On the home tab, in the font group, click on the drop-down arrow of the border, and then select Bottom border.

Top Border:

To apply only Top Border Style to the currently selected cell/s, select the “Top Border” option.

To apply Outside Borders which is Thick to the selected cell or range of cells, select the “Thick Outside Border” option.

To apply Double Bottom Border to the currently selected cell or range of cells, select the “Bottom Double Border” option.
